He began racing in 1988 in Hobby Class at Tipton, Iowa, but he didn't know how bad it would be after he started. His first win was in 1995 in Hobby Stock Class at Jackson County Speedway. Career highlight includes, 1997 Hobby Stock Championship.

The thrill of racing for Scott is being competitive in a Mopar. His most exciting racing moment was rolling a Late Model.

Scott's racing heroes are Richard Petty and Bill Elliot.
