Michael Walrod drives the #711 Stock car
at Stuart International Speedway, his home track.
1997 marks the first year Michael
climbed in a Stock car at Stuart. He says he started racing because his
dad, the original 711, raced years ago and he had loved it ever since.
Walrod's career highlight is all the
friends he's made and people he's met. The thrill of racing for him is
going three or four wide. Michael's most exciting racing moment was the
first time he ran in the top four; it was Father's Day and he was
leading and Jeff Anderson got him out of turn four going for the
checker. He looked up to the stands as he passed the flag stand and saw
his dad standing and cheering.
