Cody Sommer drives the #13 Late Model Class car.  His home track is Bureau County Speedway but he can also be found racing at LaSalle Speedway.  He lives in Sheffield, IL.  People who help Cody are:  Dwayne Braddy, Jeremy Allen, Carl Newhaufen, Jack Tyne, and Dylan Braddy.  Randy Sommer is the car owner.

Cody started racing in 2001 in the Bomber Class at Bureau County Speedway as a 3rd generation driver.  His first win was in 2002 in the Bomber Class at Bureau County Speedway.  Career highlights include Rookie of the Year in 2001, Track Championship, Favorite Driver and Best Appearing Car in 2002.

The thrill of racing for Cody is being able to control something that is out of control.  His most exciting racing moment was first night out coming to checkers, lifted and went ahead on into the wall and rolled across the finish line and got 4th!  He's most proud of his crew and his Championship.

Cody's racing hero is his Dad, Randy Sommer.

Of racing, Cody says, "It's an expensive, fun hobby, an adrenaline rush!".
