Derek Winnett drives the #3D Hornet Class car.  His home track is Charleston Speedway.

Derek started racing in 2004 in the Hornet Class at Charleston Speedway because he's always wanted to race since he started going to races. 

The thrill of racing for Derek is racing someone side by side.  His most exciting racing moment was racing his Dad side by side.  He's most proud of progressing.

Of racing, Derek says, "You need to try it!".
