Jim Cross Sr.
Jim Cross Sr. drives the #5c Hornet Class
car. His home track is Charleston Speedway but he can also be
found racing at Vermilion County Speedway. He lives in Oakland,

Jim started racing in 1955 in the Street
Stock Class at Charleston Speedway after the regular driver broke his
ankle, Jim filled in for him. Career highlights include Mid Season
Championships and regular Track Championships.
The thrill of racing for Jim is that he
just loves racing. His most exciting racing moment was at Macon
Speedway when he rolled on top of the wall. He's most proud of his
health and being able to race as long as he has.
Jim's racing hero is Doug Wheatley.
