Joe Smyser drives the #6 Hornet Class car.  He lives in Charleston, IL.  His home track is Charleston Speedway but he can also be found racing at Fayette County Speedway and Vermilion County Speedway.

He started racing in 2003 in the Hornet Class at Charleston Speedway for fun.  His first win was that same year.

The thrill of racing for Joe is the speed.  His most exciting racing moment was his first Feature win.  He's most proud of 3 Feature wins in 12 weeks during his first year racing.

Joe's racing hero is his Dad, Dave Smyser.

Of racing, Joe says, "It's a lot of fun but expensive!".
