Tim Akers

Tim Akers drives the #T5 Street Stock Class car.  He lives in Villa Grove, IL.  His home track is Charleston Speedway.

He started racing in 1998 in the Street Stock class at Charleston Speedway to keep himself out of the bars and trouble.  His first win was in 2001 in the Street Stock Class at Charleston Speedway.  Career highlights include 3rd in Points in 2002, 1st Feature win in 2002, 7 in Points in 2003 and many Heat wins.

The thrill of racing for Tim is going fast and turning left.  His most exciting racing moment was when he rolled his car and went over the wall.  He's most proud of the progress that he's made through the years. 

Tim's racing hero is Dale Earnhardt.

Of racing, Tim says, "It's expensive but the chicks dig it!".
