Darrell started racing in 2005 in the Hornet Class at Clay County Speedway because he's been around it since he was 3 years old and high school basketball was over so it was time to take on another activity.  His first win was in 2005 in the Hornet Class at Clay County Speedway.  Career highlights include his first Feature win, 2 Top Tens at Clay County Speedway and Tri State Speedway in '06 and his first career Top Five at Clay County Speedway in '06.

The thrill of racing for Darrell is coming from 24th to finish 5th in the last race of the year.    He's most proud of racing ide by side against some of the toughest competitors in the area.

Darrell's racing heroes are Johnny Deimel and Tony Bettenhausen.

Of racing, Darrell says, "Dirt Track racing is the greatest sport most people have never heard of!  What goes around comes around!".
