 Blake Cook

Blake Cook drives the #9 Modified Class car.   His home track is DuQuoin Mile Speedway but he can also be found racing at Clay County Speedway, Fayette County Speedway and Belle Claire Speedway.  He lives in DuQuoin, IL.

Team members helping Blake are:  Don Cook, Mark Napier, Ryan Cook, Justin Jackson, Ed Purcell, Chris Winters.  Don Cook is the car owner.

Blake started racing in 2004 in the Modified Class at Mt. Vernon Speedway because he loved watching the DuQuoin Mile.  His first win was in '07 in the Modified Class at Mt. Vernon Speedway.  Career highlights include running with Tony Stewart, Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace.

The thrill of racing for Blake is just going fast while sliding a 2400 lb car sideways.  His most exciting racing moment was running the DuQuoin Mile every year in front of the home crowd.  He's most proud of his first win at Mt Vernon Speedway.

Blake's racing hero is Tony Stewart.

Of racing, Blake says, "Just have fun and keep your head.  It's a privilege to do this not everyone gets this chance!".
