Jim Ransom drives the #24 Street Stock Class car.  His home track is Kamp Motor Speedway but he can also be found racing at Vermilion County Speedway.  He lives in Attica, IN.

Team members helping Jim are:  Mark & Kris, Stephen, Kevin Thomason, Tom Ross, Bob Ross, Steve Ransom, Daryl Reynolds, Bob Rickey.  SMS Motor Sports is the car owner.

Jim started racing in 1995 in the Factory Stock Class at Kamp Motor Speedway because he's an adrenaline junky!  His first win was in 1996 in the Street Stock Class at Benton County Speedway.  Career highlights include 2001 - ran 2 full schedules winning 11 out of 44 races, finished in the top 5 in 36 of those races, 30 were in the top 3!

The thrill of racing for Jim is winning!  His most exciting racing moment was at Vermilion County Speedway in 2001 starting last made last lap pass for lead off turn 4.  He's most proud of his own dedication and hard work.  Nothing is sweeter than working your tail off all week and ending up in Victory Lane!

Jim's racing hero is Darrell Waltrip.

Of racing, Jim says, "Racing takes a lot of time and hard work.  The people in the stands can tell who works on their cars all week.  If you are just starting, don't give up.  It will all come to you in due time!".
