Ron Matthys drives the #37N UMP Modified Class car. He lives in  Battleground, IN. His home track is  Kamp Motor Speedway, Boswell, IN. but he can also be found racing at Vermillion County Speedway, Danville, Il.

He began racing in 1998 at Shadyhill Speedway in I-MOD Class. His first win was the same year at Shady hill. Career highlights include, 7thin Points 1998 and 5th in Points in 1999.

The thrill of racing for Ron is the challenge. His most exciting racing moment was on 8-14-2004-UMP Modified Heat win and went on to 3rd in Feature. He is most proud that he and his wife can enjoy racing together and work  as a team.

His racing hero is Billy.

Of racing, Ron says, "Do what you want to do in life now as you may not be here tomorrow. Be fair and honest and treat people as you would expect to be treated when in competition."
