Jim Farris
#69
Jim Farris drives the #69 UMP Modified
Class car. His home track is Faribury Speedway but he can also be
found racing at Kankakee Speedway. He lives in Odell, IL.
Team members helping Jim are:
Chris, Jimmy Jr., Ashton, Rick Farris, Sharon Farris, Dave Irvin, Ron
Farris, Rob Coulter. Jim and Chris Farris are the car owners.
Jim started racing in 1991 in the Street
Stock Class at Fairbury Speedway because he loves cars and loves to
compete. His first win was in 1992 in the Street Stock Class at
Fairbury Speedway. Career highlights include multiple Feature
wins, finishing 2nd in Track Points 4 times.
The thrill of racing for Jim is the
power of the engine, the speed of the car, the competition, and the
friends you make. His most exciting racing moment was coming from
the rear of the field, passing Bob Pohlman with 5 to go and winning a
$1,000 race at LaSalle Speedway. He's most proud of the wins are
nice but he loves to learn and try new things. That's why they
started building their own chassis (FRP Chassis Odell).
Jim's racing hero is Billy Moyer.
Of racing, Jim says, "It's fun, it's
exciting! The friends and the fans are great. It's a great family
sport!".
