Class car. His home track is Farmer City Raceway but he can also
be found racing at Fairbury Speedway and Spoon River Speedway. He
lives in Mackinaw, IL.

Sr. and Gary Cook Jr. Jamie Neville is the car owner.
Derek started racing in 1997 in the Sr.
Honda Quarter Midgets Class at Abe Lincoln Quarter Midget Track because
his Dad was a Crew Chief on ASA cars and wanted the boys to get started
in racing. Derek's first win was that same year. Career
highlights include 2000 Mini Indy Points Champion in Quarter Midgets,
2005 finished 4th in the Points at Farmer City Speedway in Modifieds,
inducted into the Mini Indy Hall of Fame in 2005.
The thrill of racing for Derek is the
excitement of never knowing what is going to happen at any given second.
His most exciting racing moment was the first couple of laps the first
time he was ever in a race car. He's most proud of his induction
into the Mini Indy Hall of Fame, winning the 2000 Mini Indy Points
Championship.
Derek's racing hero is Dale Earnhardt
Jr. or Jeff Gordon.
Of racing, Derek says, "You must be very
dedicated to do well when racing but when you do well, everybody knows
it!".
