Mike Murphy Jr. drives the #14 Late Model Class car.  His home track is Quad City Speedway but he can also be found racing at Jackson County Speedway and Davenport Speedway.  He lives in Colona, IL.  People who help Mike are:  Joey Sowell, Randall Verplatse, Tim Marsden, Jeff Long, Mom and Dad.  Car owner is Randy Swanson.

He started racing in 2002 in the Late Model Class at Quad City Speedway because he'd been going to the races with his Dad since he was 5.  His first win was in 2003 in the Bomber Class at Quad City Speedway.  Career highlights include 2004 Quad City Speedway Track Championship. 

The thrill of racing for Mike is the competition.  His most exciting racing moment was his first win.  He's most proud of the help from family and friends.

Mike's racing heroes are Gary Webb and Rob Toland.
