Marty Scheckel drives the #17 Late Model
Class car. He lives in Bellevue, Illinois. His home track is Quad City
Speedway, but he can also be found racing at Jackson County Speedway.
He began racing in 1998 in Pro Stock
Class at Jackson County Speedway because he had grown up watching the
sport on TV and had always wanted to do it. His first win was in 1998 at
Jackson County in Pro Stock. Career highlights include, Finished Top Ten
in Points every year at Jackson County Speedway, winning a race his first
year in Pro Stock and winning 3 Heat Races in 2004 in Late Model Class.
The thrill of racing for Marty is the
speed. His most exciting racing moment was when his car caught on fire at
Jackson County Speedway in July 2004. He is most proud of being able To
compete and beat some of the best Dirt Late Model Racers in the Midwest.
Marty's racing hero is Cale Yarborough.
Of racing, Marty says, "Some of the most
exciting racing in in your back yards at your local dirt tracks!"
