Richard Smith Jr. drives the #12 Restrictor Class Sprint car.  His home track is Miami County Speedway.  He lives in Syracuse, IN.

Team members helping Richard are:  Larry Sroofe, Joe Sroofe.  Richard Smith is the car owner.

Richard started racing in 1990 in the Sportsman  Class at Miami County Speedway because his Father raced Micro's in the '70's.  His first win was in 1990 in the Sportsman Class at Camden Raceway.  Career highlights include 1990 Rookie of the Year at Miami County Speedway.

The thrill of racing for Richard is that it's fun and gets him away from the wife.  His most exciting racing moment was when he won the 2006 Indiana State race.  He's most proud of the friendships he has made.

Richard's racing heroes are Sam Kimmel and Larry Joe Sroofe.

Of racing, Richard says, "It is a good way to keep your teens out of trouble!".
