Tj Tjaden
#11
Tj Tjaden drives the #11 Single
Class Sprint car. His home track is English Creek Speedway but he
can also be found racing at Sweet Springs Raceway. He lives in
Colfax, IA.
Team members helping Tj are: Ron
Newquist, Tim Booher, Tim Hall. Mike Vanderlinden is the car
owner.
Tj started racing in 1997 in the Singles
Class at Small County Fairgrounds Track because his Step-Dad, Ron
Newquist, built a car, so Tj started driving it. His first win was
in 2000 in the Singles Class at Sweet Springs Raceway. Career highlights
include 2004 8th place finish at Nationals at Southern Illinois Raceway,
2005 set quick time and broke the Track Record at Nationals at Will
Rogers Raceway and a 3rd place finish.
The thrill of racing for Tj is the
thrill and intensity you feel out on the track. His most exciting
racing moment was his first National Race at Sweet Springs Raceway.
He ran more laps in one race than he had the whole season and finished
8th! He's most proud of being an honest driver. He tries to
drive each race as clean as he can.
Tj's racing hero is Sammy Swindell.
Of racing, Tj says, "I do my racing with
my family. It includes my cousin, who owns the car, my Step-Dad,
who helps with the car and the rest of my family who are the best Pit
Crew ever!".
