Holderfield
#35
Samantha Holderfield drives the #35
Restrictor Class Sprint car. Her home track is CCMMRA. She
lives in Mohamet, IL.
Team members helping Samantha are:
SC Hopper, Bryan Holderfield, Paul Esworthy, Larry Rice. Allan
Knell is the car owner.
Samantha started racing in 1996 in the
Novice Class at the age of 5 at Sangamon County Quarter Midget
Association because her Father raced, and her Grandfather, so it's been
in her family for a long time. Her first win was that same year.
Career highlights include Quarter Midget Region 5 Champion 200, ran 4th
at the Gasoline Alley Nationals in 2005 at Indy.
The thrill of racing for Samantha is the
mental ability that you have while you're on the track. She loves
the thrill of seeing that green flag wave at the same time she's thrust
forward into atmosphere of exhilarating fun with each lap she takes.
Her most exciting racing moment was at Gasoline Alley Nationals in '05.
She went there with no hope at all of getting in the top 10 but proved
herself wrong. She's most proud of her smooth driving and her
ability to concentrate on what she does and to have fun with everything
that she does.
Samantha's racing heroes are Larry Rice
and her Grandfather, Dean Holderfield.
Of racing, Samantha says, "It's fun,
enjoyable family sport that involves everyone in the family!".
