Cody Baker drives the #38 Restrictor Class
Sprint car. His home track is Sweet Springs Raceway. He
lives in Lone Jack, MO.
Team members helping Cody are:
Grandpa - Ted Hall, Grandma - Marilyn Hall, Dad - Jerry Baker, Mom -
Paige Baker. Ted Hall is the car owner.
Cody started racing in 2001 in the Jr.
Sprint Class at Sweet Springs Raceway because Grandpa Hall has built
race cars since the '60's from Sprints to Indy cars. He finally
got a Grandson to drive. His first win was that same year.
Career highlights include Jr. Track Champion at Sweet Springs Raceway in
'03, finishing in the Top 10 Nationally in Jr. and Restrictor Class.
The thrill of racing for Cody is going
fast , passing your strongest competitor. His most exciting racing
moment was in the 2006 Western while leading the Feature half way
through the race, was spun by a lapped car, restarted 16th and was able
to finish 3rd. He's most proud of consistently finishing in the
top 5, improving his driving with every race regardless of how he
finishes.
Cody's racing heroes are Dale Earnhardt
Sr. and Grandpa Ted Hall.
Of racing, Cody says, "It's a great
family sport with a lot of great people!".
