Dustin Gilbert lives in Lawrence, Kansas and makes Lakeside Speedway his home track.  He drives the white, yellow and blue 48G in the Grand National Class.  You can also find him on I-44 Speedway and Linn County Speedway.

The car owner's are Darren & Gaila Gilbert.  Crew members consist of Jay Shultz, Doug Penner, Darren Gilbert, Justin Robinson and Rusty Vevynck.

Dustin started racing in 1999, driving Go-Karts at the Douglas County Speedway, because he thought it would be fun and he thought he would be good at it.

His career highlights have been in Go-Karts so far.  In 1999 he was the JR points champion.  He has been a 2 time Jayhawk JR Spectacular winner and was 2nd runner up in points at Thunderlake Speedway.  His greatest thrill was taking the checkered flag in the last race of the year, knowing he had won the championship.

The thrill of racing is just being in the driver's seat and giving it all you got.  Dustin is most proud of racing every Friday night with the best driver's in the midwest.  His thoughts on racing are "If all else fails, give it more gas."

Dustin says about racing, "to be smart, smooth and safe.  And to be slower is to be faster."

His biggest dream would be to become a Nascar Nextel Cup Driver.  His racing hero's are Dale Earnhardt and Ken Schrader.
