Dwight Chitwood lives in Whitley City,
KY. His home track is Clinton County Speedway but he can be found racing
at several other tracks such as Lake Cumberland, Eldora, Paducah,
Clarksville, Junction City, Savannah and a few others.
He began racing in 1978 in Street Stock at
Corbin because his Dad and Brother did it and he loved it. His first win
was in Corbin in 1978 in Street Stock Class. Career highlights
include, Track Champion 1998 and 1999 Street Stock- Open Wheel 2000 at
Wartburg, TN., Track Champion 2002 Open Wheel Clinton County Speedway, won
100 Lap Road Hog Race at Lake Cumberland 1996-led 86 of 100 laps, $2000.00
to win and $860.00 in Lap Money.
The thrills of racing for Dwight are the
excitement and fun. His most exciting racing moments was when he held
Jimmy Owen for 15 Laps at Wartburg Speedway. He is most proud of being
able to go and have fun with the Family and winning.
His racing hero is Dale Earnhardt.
