Donnie Houchens

Donnie Houchens drives the #47D Limited Late Model Class car. He lives in Glasgow, Ky. His home track is Fairview Motorsports but he can also be found racing at Barren County Speedway.

He started racing in 1976 in Street Class at Barren County because he loved it. His first win was in 1977 same Class at Barren. Career highlights include the 1991 Street Stock Points Champion, over 30 wins, and many 2nd place finishes.

The thrill of racing for Donnie is finishing the race without tearing the car up. His most exciting racing moment was winning 1st. He is most proud of winning the Championships in 1991.  Then thirteen years later in 2004 he was the Fairview Motorsports Points Champion for the Limited Late Model class

Donnie loves to race, and has been racing now for about 30 years with the support of his wife Penny and his two girls Misty and Mandy.

Of Racing, Donnie says, " If you ever get the chance to race one time,
