Barry Turner lives in Somerset, KY. His
home track is Lake Cumberland Speedway but he can also be found racing at
Willard speedway.
He began racing in 1999 in Open Wheel
Class at Lake Cumberland because his Dad raced and Barry had
been around racing since he was a baby. His first win was in 1999 at Lake
Cumberland in same Class. Career highlights include, 2000 and 2001 he won
25 Heat Races, Second in Points 2002 at Lake Cumberland.
The thrill of racing for Barry is
being the Underdog. His most exciting racing moments was when 2nd in
Points in 2002 at Lake Cumberland, voted Sportsman of the Year in 2002. He
is most proud of being competitive while being undefended.
His racing heroes are his Dad, Frank
Turner, and Butterball Wooldridge.
Of racing, Barry says, "Don't knock it
until you try it".
