Joe David Turner drives the #44 Open Wheel Class car.  He lives in Richmond, KY.  His home track is Ponderosa Speedway but he can be found racing at Burnside Speedway and Bluegrass Speedway.

He started racing in 1987 in the Bomber Class at Richmond Raceway as he had been around racing all his life and he loves the sport.  His first win was that same year. 

The thrill of racing for Joe is to win for his sponsors.  His most exciting racing moment was his first win.  He's most proud of the work they do with the kids.  They started "Turner & Sons Racing" to keep kids off drugs.  When kids promise to say "no to drugs" we give them a certificate and let them sit in car.
