Doug Smith drives the #45 Late Model Class car. He lives in  Somerset, Ky, His home track is Richmond Paceway but he can also be found racing at  The Bluegrass Speedway.

He started racing in 1989 in the Late Model Class at Lake Cumberland , because he enjoys the speed and spending time with his family. His first win was in 1990 in same Class at the Perry Co. Speedway. Career highlights include, 1989 Rookie of the Year at Lake Cumberland Speedway, 5 Place Northern All Stars and R.O Runner Up in 2002, 4 Place Northern All Stars and Most Improved Diver in 2003.

The thrill of racing for Doug is the competition. His most exciting racing moment was winning his first race. He is most proud of being able to race on a competitive level.
