#99
Amy Ward drives the #99 Pure Street Class
car. She lives in Lexington, Ky. Her home track is Richmond Raceway.
She began racing in 2001 in Road Hog Class
at Richmond Raceway because she had grown up in a garage, worked on a pit
team when she was 13, met her husband, who races Modifieds, in 2000. He
built her first car. Her first win was in 2004 in Pure Street Class at
Richmond Raceway, Ky. Career highlights include 2004-2nd in Points at
Richmond so far, 1 Heat Race win and 2 Feature wins.
The thrills of racing for her are going
fast, being in control and always looking for the next win. Her most
exciting racing moment was the Pumpkin Twin 50's Race at Richmond in 2002,
50 laps with hardly any cautions. She is most proud that she is able to
race every weekend with her husband and of winning her first race in 2004.
Amy's racing hero is Mark Martin.
Of racing, Amy says, "Give it a chance and
come watch. These men and women don't get the credit they deserve".
