David Powers lives in Salyersville, KY.
His home track is 201 Speedway but he can also be found racing at Willard
Speedway.
He began racing in 1982 in Street Stock
Class at 201 Speedway because he loves the sport and has been in a racing
environment since he was born. His first win was in 1982 at 210 Speedway
in Street Stock Class. Career highlights include 201 Speedway Track
Champion-Late Model in 2001, 2002, and 2003.
The thrills of racing for David are to be
able to handle the race car at the speeds they travel, and performing well
for his team. His most exciting racing moment was finishing second
in a Battle of the Bluegrass Race at Richmond and setting Fast Time in a
few BoB Races. He is most proud of the 3 time Track Champion three years
in a row for JMC Motorsports.
David's racing hero is Delmas Conley.
Of racing David says, "It's a family
atmosphere and there's a lot of good people involved in racing". He also
says "Tell kids to say NO to drugs".
