Ricky began racing in 2001 because: " My step-dad asked me if I wanted to race... I said yes and i love it. It's alot of fun and it keeps me out of trouble." His home track is Windy Hollow Speedway. He also races at Kentucky Motor Speedway. Pure Stock is his preferred class.

His career highlight (so far) has been 10 points in his first year of racing. The personal thrill of racing for Ricky is simply "having fun".  His greatest racing thrill is when he placed fifth.
