Billy Despain

Billy Despain drives the #75 Open Wheel Modified Class car.  He lives in Campbellsville, KY.  His home track is Bluegrass Speedway but he can also be found racing at Brownstown, Florence Speedway, Lake Cumberland Speedway, Clinton County Speedway and Legendary Ponderosa Speedway.

He started racing in 2000 in the Modified Class at Lake Cumberland Speedway because he'd loved racing all his life.  His first win was in 2003 in the Modified Class at Bluegrass Speedway.  Career highlights include his first win at Bluegrass Speedway in 2003, finishing 6th in the Modified part of the Dirt Track World Championship with 88 cars in the field and a Heat win at Brownstown opening night with 60 Modifieds.

The thrill of racing for Billy is racing hard with clean drivers.  His most exciting racing moment was watching his son race.  He's most proud of his son's first win.

Billy's racing hero is his son, Elliott Despain.
