Joey started racing in 1991 in the Street Stock Class at Brownstown Speedway.  His first win was in 1994 in the Street Stock Class at Whitewater Speedway.  Career highlights include 2003 Rookie of the Year in National Dirt Late Model and Bluegrass Speedway in Late Model, 2005 16 Feature wins, top five 28 times at 13 tracks in 3 states.
