Corky Knight drives the #9 Mini Stock
Class car. His home track is Mottville Speedway but he can also be
found racing at Plymouth Speedway, M-40 Speedway and New Paris Speedway.
He lives in Hebron, IN.
Team members helping Corky are:
Brother - Patrick Knight, Doug Zamojski
Corky started racing in 1971 in the
Sportsman Class at Broadway Speedway because he was born into racing.
His Dad, Sonny Knight, raced for 35 years. His first win was in
'74 in the Sportsman class at Broadway Speedway. Career highlights
include '74 1st Heat win, 2 Track titles in '78 & 79 at Broadway
Speedway and Rennsalaer Speedway, built his own engines and cars
outside, raced with his Father for many years, on the track and never
spun his Dad out.
The thrill of racing for Corky is the
competition, camaraderie and still building his own engines. His
most exciting racing moment was winning that 1st Heat race in '74 at
Broadway Speedway. He's most proud of racing with his Dad and most
racers help each other and that is awesome.
Corky's racing heroes are Sonny Knight
and Mark Martin.
Of racing, Corky says, "Weekly racing is
demanding on your wife and family. Drivers should relax and not
get upset when they spin out or are wrecked!".
