Tim Hawkins
#33p
Tim Hawkins drives the #33p Pure Stock
Class car. He lives in Sanford, NC. His home track is
Fayetteville Motorsports Park.
Tim's #33p car is the red and black Chevy
Camaro.
He started racing in 1999 in the Late
Model Class at Caraway Speedway as Crew Chief. Tim was influenced by
Chuck Smith to become a driver. He gave Tim his first ride and
helped him with his first race at Sumter Speedway where he finished 7th in
Super Street Stock Class. Career highlights include being Crew Chief
for Wayne Homes Late Model at Caraway Speedway from '99-'02. He was
Crew Chief for Chuck Smith Construction Pure Stock at Fayetteville
Mortorsports Park and Wayne County Speedway in 2002.
The thrill of racing for Tim is when you
have worked hard all day and have a good finish to show for it. The
most exhilarating moment was when he was rolled over in turn 4 at
Fayetteville coming tot he checkered flag. "It was better than
the tilt-a-whirl at the State Fair!".
Smith Motorsports makes Tim the
proudest. Our late season run in Pure Stock for the 2002 season was
very impressive from a driver and crew chief point of view.
Of racing Tim says, "Racing is hard
work and a dangerous sport when approached and participated in. With
that in mind, you should have a respect like no other for those who drive
and work on the race cars!".
Tim's racing heroes are the Earnhardt's
DEI!
