He started racing in 1983 in Various Classes (WKA/IKF) in Avon, N.Y. becaus of his love of racing. His first win was in 1983 in the Yamaha Class in Avon, N.Y. Career highlights include 2 Feature wins at 311 Speedway in IMCA in 2004 and 4 Feature wins at Friendship Speedway in 2003.

The thrill of racing for Kent is having a good time at the racetrack and being competitive. His most exciting racing moment was  his first win at Friendship Speedway. He is most proud of being 42 and still having fun racing.

Kent's racing hero is A. J. Foyt.
