Johnny Smith drives the #77 Stock 4 Class car. He lives in Eden, N.C. His home track is the 311 Speedway.

He started racing in 1997 in the Stock 4 Class at 311 Speedway because he always wanted to race, for the thrill of competition and the speed. Career highlights include 4th in Points in 2003, 3 Heat Race wins, 14 Top 5's, 20 Top 10's, and running 3rd in the Points in 2004.

The thrill of racing for Johnny is the speed and all the fast pace action. Plus the great friends he has made. His most exciting racing moment was running 4 laps side by side with the B1 of Robbie Brown and winning the Heat race. He says, "it was the most fun I've had" . He is most proud of  working with his team and his little sister and family on our race car. Also trying to run every race as clean as possible. Johnny feels respect is something earned.

His racing hero is Dale Earnhardt.

Of racing,  Johnny says, "It's very addictive, and very fun, but it is also very time consuming and expensive to do."
