Matt Whisenhunt drives the #22 Sportsman
Class car. He lives in Winston-Salem, NC. His home track is
Bowman Gray Stadium but he can also be found racing at Caraway Speedway.
He started racing in 1999 in the Sportsman
Class at Bowman Gray for fun, sport, enjoyment and as a hobby. His
first win was in 1999 in the Sportsman Class at Clingman Speedway.
In 2000 Matt was Track Champion at Clingman Speedway and in 2001 he was
Track Champion at Woodleaf Speedway.
The thrill of racing for Matt is to enjoy
the speed and close competition. His most exciting racing moment was
his first win. He's most proud that he's only a teenager but at
nearly every track that he races at he can hold his own against those who
have been racing for 10-15 years.
Matt's racing heroes are all those who
gave up their lives driving a race car.
Of racing, Matt says, "Fun sport/anyone
who has the opportunity should try it! All around good
sportsmanship, great fans, close competition, lots of speed!".
