Nathan Buttlee
#66
Nathan Buttlee drives the #66 Late Model
Class car. He lives in Randleman, NC. His home track is
Caraway Speedway.
Nathan's #66 car is the black, white and
yellow Hedgecode Chassis, Alvin Toomes Engine (Mopay's High Performance).
He started racing in 1991 in the
Late Model Class at Caraway Speedway because his father raced years ago
gave it another shot, for fun, you could say. Nathan got in the car
and did pretty well for a first time and the rest is history. His
first win was in 1993 in the Late Model Class at Caraway. Career
highlights include Late Model Class win North Wilkesboro '95, Pole
Position racing in Bush Grand National and Nascar Craftsman Truck
Series win at the New River beating Ronnie Thomas.
The thrill of racing for Nathan is the
challenge. The most exhilarating racing moment for him has been
every win and starting the 2001 Craftsman Truck race at Daytona.
He's most proud of being a fairly smart driver and usually staying out of
trouble.
Nathan's racing hero is Dale
Earnhardt. He drove hard every lap, got the best out of what he had.
Of racing, Nathan says, "It is
different than it looks like. You have to try it for yourself or
actually be with the crew and experience it!".
