Ray Tapp
#16
Ray Tapp drives the #16 Renagade Class
car. His home track is Carolina Speedway but he can also be found
racing at Cherokee Super Speedway. He lives in Mt. Holly, NC.
Team members helping Ray are: Big
Ronald Pope, Little Ronald "Rabbit" Pope, Steven Newsome, Rick Painter.
Ray started racing in 2005 in the
Renagade Class at Carolina Speedway because it's in his blood. His
Father raced back in the '70's, '80's and '90's. Career highlights
include finishing his first race where he started 12 out of 19. It
was the best time in the world.
The thrill of racing for Ray is getting
dirty having fun. His most exciting racing moment was hitting the
turn 4 wall wide open head on....that was very exciting! He's most
proud of clean driving and most of the time that he starts, he finishes
with only 2 out of 70 races missing the end.
Ray's racing hero is Larry Tapp #16.
Of racing, Ray says, "That it's fun, it
takes money and bring your friends out to see for themselves!".
