Steve Heintz.
Matt started racing in 2006 in the Crate
Late Model Class at Carolina Speedway and I-77 Speedway because he's
been involved in racing with his family since being born. Moved
down to NC and was bored, so bought a car. His first win was in
'09 in the Crate Late Model Class at Carolina Speedway. Career
highlights include '08 Top 10 Fastrak National Points, '09 2 Feature
wins, Top 5 NDRA Points.
The thrill of racing for Matt is the
challenge of the sport in general plus the competition aspect. His
most exciting racing moment was winning his first race in '09.
He's most proud that each year he/they get better plus he feels they
race clean/fair and consistent.
Matt's racing hero is his Father, Tye
Long.
Of racing, Matt says, "It's hard to
explain Dirt Racing to outsiders, getting new folks to race is the
key!".
