Scott Joplin drives the #53 Frank Kimmel Street Stock Class car.  He lives in Cheraw, SC.

Team members helping Scott are:  Kenny Deese, Randy Bedford, Wade Sellers, Ron Walker, Tommy Poston. 

Scott started racing in '78 in the Street Stock Class at Hartsville and Dillon, SC for the love of racing.  His first win was in '85 in the Drag Race class at Darlington, SC.  Career highlights include building race cars for 30 years and racing occasionally.

The thrill of racing for Scott is the speed, challenge and friendships.  His most exciting racing moment was building 2 Daytona Dash race cars that raced at Daytona in '84 and working on Rick Newsom and J D McDuffies Cup cars in the '80's.  He's most proud of just being involved in racing for his entire life.  That's all he ever had to do in life is build race cars every day....circle track cars and drag cars.

Scott's racing heroes are Dick Brooks, James Hy Hon, Richard Childress, Cecil Gordon, Lennie Pond, drivers who raced in the '60's, '79's, '80's and built their own cars.

Of racing, Scott says, "Get involved, very addicting, ultimate high!".
