Furman Parton

Furman Parton drives the #6P Late Model Class car.  He lives in Union Mills, NC.  His home track is Carolina Speedway but he can also be found racing at Cherokee Super Speedway and Thunder Valley Speedway.

He started racing in 1991 in the Motocross Beginner Class at Silver Creek and in the Late Model Dirt Class the end of 2002 at Thunder Valley Speedway because he enjoys any type of competition.  His first win was in 2003 in the Limited Late Model at Cherokee Speedway.  Career highlights include winning the NC/SC Steelhead Championship at Cherokee Super Speedway.

The thrill of racing for Furman is figuring out how to make the car go faster, whether it be fixing him or the car.  His most exciting racing moment is any time he has to start at the back....ends up being exhilarating and often expensive.  He's most proud of be able to count on the guys to come tot he track  with him to help out and not stir up trouble.
