Billy Thompson began racing in 1988 in Thunder & Lightening Class at Carolina because his father got him into it.

His first win was in 1989 in same Class at Lincoln County. Career highlights include, 1995 East Lincoln Track Champion, 26 wins in one Season, 2003 Carolina Speedway Track Champion.

The thrill of racing for Billy is the speed. His most exciting racing moment was winning two races in one night at Carolina Speedway, Super Stock and Cannonball. He is most proud of the fan count.

Of racing, Billy says, "Have deep pockets".
