David Laughlin, Jr.

David Laughlin, Jr. drives the #77 Rolling Thunder Asphalt Modified Class car.  He lives in Hubert, NC.  His home track is Coastal Plains Raceway but he can also be found racing at the Series home track which is South Boston, and East Carolina Motor Speedway.

He started racing in 2000 in the Street Stock Class at Coastal Plains Raceway because he'd loved it all his life.  Career highlights include during his first race, the trans stuck in 4th gear, causing David to start from the rear in a 29 car field, ending up 5th in a 30 lap race.

The thrill of racing for David is going fast and turning left.  His greatest thrill is the motivation he gets every time he gets in the car.  His thrill now is running for Rookie of the Year and the Championship in the Modifieds.  He's most proud of having the opportunity to race and hopefully his first championship.

David's racing hero is Jeff Gordon.

Of racing, David says, "You can never have to many toys, that's both hot rods and tools!".
