Larry Pollard
#98
Larry Pollard drives the #98 Super Late
Model Class car. He lives in Taylorsville, NC. His home track
is Concord Motorsports Park.
Team members helping Larry are:
Dad - Earl Pollard, Richard Childress, Richard Petty, Bill Anderson and
Bill Kirby.
He started racing in 1969 in the Street
Stock Class at Victoria B.C. Canada because his Dad raced. His first win was
that same year. Career highlights include Stock Car Track Champion
in 1970-71, 85 Feature wins over next 20 years, and winner of the Busch Grand National at Martinsville
and Hampton, VA. in 1987.
The thrill of racing for Larry is the
smell of rubber and the competition. His most exciting racing moment was
his Busch win at Hampton in 1987 and qualifying over 200 mph at Daytona
in 1987 Fire Cracker. He's most proud that people consider him a
fair driver with respect for the fellow competitors and at the same time
can win a few races over the years.
Larry's Dad, Earl Pollard is his
racing hero.
Of racing, Larry says, "Get away from
it before you get infected!".
