Eric Thompson drives the #17 Open Wheel Modified Class car.  His home track is East Lincoln Speedway but he can also be found racing at Fayetteville Motor Speedway and Thunder Valley Speedway.  He lives in Charlotte, NC.

Eric started racing in 2001 in the Super Street Class at East Lincoln Speedway.  His first win was in 2005 in the Modified Class at East Lincoln Speedway.  Career highlights include 3 wins, finishing 10th in Southeastern Region IMCA Modifieds.

The thrill of racing for Eric is the side by side racing.  His most exciting racing moment was his first win.  He's most proud of his wife's backing in racing.

Of racing, Eric says, "It is not a racial sport any more!".
