Ron Pope drives the #17 Super Street class car.  His home track is Fayetteville Motor Speedway but he can also be found racing at Wayne County Speedway.  He lives in Dunn, NC.

Team members helping Ron are:  Ronnie and Connie Pope, Jeff Pope, Simon Hodgson, Angie Marine.  Ron Pope is the car owner.

He started racing in 1999 in the Pure Stock Class at Fayetteville Motor Speedway for something to do on weekends and because he has always liked and been around racing.  His first win was in 2000 in the Pure Stock Class at FMS.  Career highlights include 6 wins in 2000 in the Pure Stock Class, 1 win in 2001 in the Super Street Class, wins in Pure Stock in 2002 and 1 win so far in 2005 in the Super Street. 

The thrill of racing for Ron is the speed and good side by side racing.  His most exciting racing moment was his first win in 2000.  He's most proud of winning races.

Of racing, Ron says, "Everybody needs to try it at least once.  Rubbin is Racin!".
