 Jimmy Edwards Jr.

#48

Jimmy Edwards Jr. drives the #48 Late Model Class car.  His home track is Fayetteville Motor Speedway but he can also be found racing at Dublin Motor Speedway and Wayne County Speedway.  He lives in Fayetteville, NC.

Team members helping Jimmy are:  Dawson Chambers, Jason Edwards, Steve Moore, Sharon Edwards.

Jimmy started racing in 1975 in the Late Model Class at the old Fayetteville Speedway because his Dad raced all his life.  His first win was that same year.  Career highlights include winning 40 races in 1979 and 3 Track Championships, Driver of the Year in 1981.  He has over 15 Track Championships at Fayetteville Speedway, Dublin Motor Speedway, Pender County, Carolina Speedway at Lakeview, Conway and Wayne County Speedway.  He has over 395 wins.

The thrill of racing for Jimmy is winning!  His most exciting racing moment was winning the Shirley Edwards Memorial in 2001 and the East Coast Clash - $5000 win in 1992.  He's most proud of out running Winston Cup drivers on dirt - Dale Earnhardt, Ernie Irvan, Kyle Petty, David Pearson, Bobby Allison, Terry LaBonte plus many more.

Jimmy's racing hero is his Dad, Jimmy Edwards Sr.

Of racing, Jimmy says, "There's nothing no better than the thrill of victory and nothing no worse than the agony of defeat!".
