Don Moore drives the #72 Vintage Class
car. He lives in Spartanburg, S.C. His home track is Cherokee Speedway .
He began racing in 1969 in Rookie Class at
Rutherford Speedway after going with a friend, he got hooked on it. His
first win was in 1970 in Rookie Class at Shelby Speedway. Career
highlights include, several Track Championships Early 70"s at Rutherford,
Over 250 Feature wins at Shelby and Harris Speedways. At one point he won
4 in a row at three races and 12 back to back wins.
The thrill of racing for Don is the
competition. His most exciting racing moment was going to victory lane at
Daytona Motor Speedway, even though he was only working on the car. He is
most proud of being remembered by others in years past as a worthy
opponent, fierce and fair. He is always willing to help others to achieve
their goals.
His racing hero is David Pearson.
Of racing, Don says, "Try it, you'll like
it".
