Gene Cornwell

Gene Cornwell races trucks out of Rock Hill SC.  Hickory Motor Speedway is his home track. He also races at Caraway.

Gene began racing Karts in 1993 at Indian Land. He started racing because he grew up in a racing environment.  He got his first win in 1999 at Indian Land.  He won the 2000 stock light Championship (dirt track). In 2001 he won the South Carolina Pavement Series Championship, in the stock heavy class.

The thrill of racing for Gene is winning.

He is most proud of making the main event at Daytona Municipal Stadium in the Dirt World Championship Karting race.

Dale Earnhardt is his racing hero.

When you hear Gene talking about racing you will hear him remark on how competitive it has gotten.
