Team members helping Derrick are:  Morris, Mike, Scotty, Jeff, Courtney, Pat, Jimmy, Ryan Hemphill and Dad.  Earl Ramey is the car owner.

Derrick started racing in 2000 in the Purple Plate Class at Woodleaf NC because his Dad is a NASCAR engine builder.
