Derrick Long

Derrick Long drives the #38 Young Guns Class car. He lives in Gastonia, N.C. His home track is Lowe's Motor Speedway abut he can also be found racing at Concord and Senoia.

He started racing in 2002 in Young Guns class at Lowe's because he has grown up around the Super Models.  Career highlight so far include finishing second in  his first Dirt Race he ran.

The thrills of racing for Derrick are doing something he loves to do and moving through the pack.  His most exciting racing moment was at Coswell County, racing for the lead. He is most proud of  the way he has improved so much and being just a few feet from his first win.

Derrick's racing hero is Jeff Gordon.

Of racing, Derrick says, " Keep at it, never give up. It has it's ups and down".
